Training at Pinnacle Home Care, Inc.

Our policy states that all Pinnacle Home Care employees must complete certain trainings prior to starting work. These trainings include:

  • CORE
  • CPR*
  • First Aid*
  • NCI+ (transition, prevention, and defensive/restrictive, if necessary)
  • OSHA* (Blood borne Pathogens)

Employees are also required to take other trainings as part of your continuing education competency and continued employment. These trainings are to be completed within the first 90 days of hire, and yearly:

  • Client’s Rights
  • Environmental Safety
  • Transporting Procedures
  • Emergency and Safety Procedures
  • Professional Ethics
  • Abuse and Neglect
  • Cultural Diversity

CPR

CPR stands for cardiopulmonary resuscitation. It is an emergency lifesaving procedure that is done when someone’s breathing or heartbeat has stopped. This may happen after an electric shock, heart attack, or drowning. CPR combines rescue breathing and chest compression’s.

First Aid

First Aid is emergency care or treatment given to an ill or injured person before regular medical aid can be obtained. At Pinnacle Home Care all of our staff have been been trained in First Aid and we verify the ongoing certification of our team members.

OSHA

In order to reduce or eliminate the hazards of occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens, Pinnacle Home Care has implemented an exposure control plan for our client worksites with details on employee protection measures. Our plan describes how an Pinnacle and its employees will use a combination of engineering and work practice controls, ensure the use of personal protective clothing and equipment, provide training, medical surveillance, Hepatitis B vaccinations, and signs and labels, among other provisions. Engineering controls are the primary means of eliminating or minimizing employee exposure and include the use of safer medical devices, such as needleless devices, shielded needle devices, and plastic capillary tubes.
